Maritime Studies Abroad Program
The Ocean
Technology Foundation and the University of Connecticut (UConn),
with generous support from Zoomarine, have created a special opportunity in marine
animal husbandry for undergraduate students. At Zoomarine,
Portugal's premier oceanographic education facility, students
have the opportunity to work hands on with seals, sea lions,
birds, turtles and other marine animals. They also are
introduced to Portugal's rich maritime history through weekend field trips. OTF offers scholarships to students to
participate in this program.
University of Connecticut Marine
Scholars Program
OTF also supports
UConn's Marine Scholars Program. The purpose of this
program is to provide high school juniors and seniors from the
region with unique opportunities to strengthen their interests
in Marine Science and/or Maritime Studies through exposure to
the college learning environment and faculty mentoring.
